Since the original post announcing our decision to "come off the road" and leave fulltime rv-ing we have been busy. We purchased our Park Model in February of 2024 and began moving "stuff" in. In early April we left the Park to travel back to our lot at the Escapees Park in Lakewood, NM with the primary intent to sell our 5th Wheel Trailer and begin cleaning out our Casita so that we could put our Lakewood lot up for sale. If we couldn't sell our 5th wheel in Lakewood, it was our intent to travel to the Black Hills and Hart Ranch to attempt to sell. Well, wouldn't you know it, on the trip back to Lakewood we got a phone call from old friend Kevin C who was calling to check on us and to let us know that he had put his rig (Winnebago Class A)up for sale and had it at a Lubbock, TX RV Dealer on consignment. During the conversation I mentioned that we had ours up for sale if he knew of anyone looking for a good used 5th Wheel. He shocked us when he said that in fact he did know someone who was looking and that he would call him to see if he was still looking. 10 minutes later I got a call back advising that the other party was interested, knew our trailer and that he would be calling me. He did, I gave him a price and he said SOLD. Only stipulation was that I had to deliver it to Hondo, TX. No problem. What a relief.
Our trip to Hondo was an interesting one, as we travelled through Odessa and Midland, TX, sites for the current Landman TV series and Uvalde, TX site of the mass shooting event. Everything went ok and soon we were back in Lakewood, NM to clean out our casita. With everything we owned in either the truck or the car we headed for Yuma, arriving there on May 9. Then the fun began.
The first thing was new siding on the Park Model.
We had the new siding done to match the siding on the Arizona Room. Next we had all the windows replaced with double pane insulated windows.
We added a shelter for our bikes and golf cart....
And then we went to work on our "back yard patio" area.
We added a Pergola and a nice set of chairs and table to compliment our Blackstone grill.
A new TV for the Arizona room was a definite plus.
Of course Mary got an expanded table for her crafts.
We had a plumber come in and completely update our entire system with current spec piping as well as install a Water Softener System and a new R/O drinking water system.

Lastly a look at our living area- where we spend most of our time......
Guess that about covers it for now. We are really enjoying our place and have no regrets coming off the road. Golf nearly every day is not such a bad thing.
