Butterfield Days - continued

On January 1, 2015, we packed up and left Cochise Terrace RV Resort and headed down the hill and back to Butterfield RV Resort.........for a stay that would last the month of January, February, and the first few days of March.

New Years Day was a little "icy"

Down the hill to Benson
One of the main reasons we returned was the heated pool - 84 degrees- and Mary didn't waste any time after we got there.....and hardly missed a Water Aerobics session.

Mary doing her favorite AZ thing on Jan 1
One thing that we didn't really miss while up at Cochise Terrace were the trains. We soon got re-introduced......

Beautiful, downtown Benson

Talk about a diesel pusher!!!

Our site changed from 105 (from November) to 104 for the time we spent here this stay. Many of our old friends from November were still here - like Dick & Patti, Ken & Judy, Lee & Debbie, Steve & Barbara, Jerry & Kitty, Bobby & Paula, Dick & Sarah. And then we made some new friends: Jerry & Iris, John & Joni, Al & Anita, Jay & Linda, Roy & Trina......

That's us - right in the middle of this pic

And then there were the special events in the clubhouse- Pot Lucks, Happy Hours, the Chili Cookoff, the Super Bowl Party, the Wine Tasting Night, the Daytona 500........

Pot Luck Night- building was always full

Always plenty of GOOD food

Happy Hours were so popular that we had to increase them to 2 a week

One of the things that we did on a regular basis was to get up each morning and check the weather back home:

We always looked and then congratulated ourselves on the good decision to come west for the winter and miss all the cold and the snow. Every time.

Mary and I each took advantage of exercise opportunities. Mary faithfully reported each Mon-Wed-Fri. for Water Aerobics. Each morning I took advantage of the exercise room - getting there around 6:00 for  1/2 hour of Eliptical and bicycle exercise. A little later on in the morning I would walk from our spot to Ocotillo Ave and head up the hill to the stop sign by the Baptist Church - a round trip, strenuous walk of about 2.25 miles. Here are a couple of pics from the top of the hill looking back down towards Benson:

During the month of February and into the early part of March, we said goodby to a number of our friends.....

Al & Anita leaving and heading to Deming, NM

Iris & Jerry leaving and heading to Green Valley

John & Joni leaving and heading to New Mexico

A few days before it was time for us to leave, Ken & Judy had a bonfire and all were invited.....

And then March 6 rolled around and it was time for us to pack up and leave our friends and head on to a new adventure: the Escapees Rally (Escapade) in Tucson.

Our friends came over to see us off. We will most certainly miss them.

And then it was off to Tucson.................................
